SEND A DIGITAL IMPRESSION

Sending your digital impression to Summit-Horizon cuts out shipping time, reduces chair time, and improves day-to-day communication with our technicians. We accept all major digital scanners, and we can still work with traditional PVS impressions if a case requires it.


We support files from the scanners listed below. Each has simple connection steps. If you need help connecting your scanner to Summit-Horizon, call (888) 785-9710 and our team will walk you through it.


Important: Every digital case must include a completed Rx. Upload the Rx as a PDF with your files or include it through your scanner portal.

SET UP YOUR SCANNER TO SUBMIT TO SUMMIT-HORIZON

Setup takes just 2–5 minutes per scanner. If you need assistance or your scanner isn’t listed, call us at (888) 785-9710 — our team will walk you through the process or provide custom setup instructions.

  • 3M True Definition / 3M workflows

    1. Scan the arch(es) and bite.
    2. Use the 3M Connection Center (or Oral Care Portal) to send scan files to the lab.
    3. Add Summit Horizon as your lab in the portal (if not already added).
    4. Upload the scan files, attach RX/shade photo and complete the case submission.
    5. Await confirmation from the lab.
    6. Notes: Confirm that Summit Horizon is listed properly in the 3M portal as your lab recipient.
  • Carestream Intraoral / imaging systems

    1. Perform scan of prep arch, opposing and bite registration.
    2. In the Carestream software (for example CS Imaging) export the scan: select the case, choose “Export” or “Send to Lab”.
    3. From the scanner or Connect portal, add Summit Horizon as the lab partner (search by name, location, or email).
    4. Select Summit Horizon when sending the scan. Attach RX, shade photo. Submit the case and await confirmation from the lab.
    5. Note: Even though Carestream is more image-export oriented (3D, DICOM) make sure STL/PLY file format is supported if your lab request demands it.
  • DEXIS (IS Series, ScanFlow / Connect)

    1. Scan the prep arch, opposing arch and bite registration per your workflow.
    2. In the DEXIS IS ScanFlow or DEXIS IS Connect software, go to the “Send to Lab” or “Export” function. It supports sending files directly to preferred labs.
    3. Add Summit Horizon as a recipient partner/lab (via DEXIS IS Connect).
    4. Attach your RX, shade photo and any notes. Submit the case and receive digital acknowledgement.
    5. Tip: Make sure file format is correct (STL/PLY) if required by the lab and that the lab name is spelled correctly.
  • iTero

    How to Select Summit Horizon Dental Lab in the iTero Portal


    Log in to your iTero scanner.


    Capture full arch scan(s), bite, and opposing as needed.


    Complete case details: 

    • patient name/ID
    • restoration type
    • shade

    In the Lab Selection field, search for: 
“Summit Horizon Dental Lab” (St. Louis, MO).

    Attach your digital RX form and photos (if available).


    Submit the case.


    Confirmation: Summit Horizon will review and contact you to confirm details.

  • Medit

    Sending Your Case to Summit Horizon Dental Lab with Medit.


    Open Medit Link software.


    Scan arches, bite, and soft tissue as appropriate.


    Add case information:

    • Patient ID
    • Restoration type
    • Notes

    Select Lab > Search then enter:
“Summit Horizon Dental Lab” (St. Louis, MO).


    Attach RX and photos.


    Submit to the lab.


    Confirmation: Summit Horizon will acknowledge and confirm receipt.

  • Planmeca (intraoral scanner via Romexis)

    1. Perform the scans: preparation arch, opposing arch, bite scan (follow your normal scan pattern).
    2. In Planmeca Romexis software, locate the case under “Patient Data” → CAD/CAM. Then choose Cloud Export (or “Send to Laboratory”) or equivalent.
    3. In the export dialog, select Summit Horizon Dental Lab as the destination.
    4. Attach your prescription form (RX), shade photo, and any notes.
    5. Submit the case. Wait for the lab’s confirmation.
    6. Remind: Always include shade photo + RX to ensure accurate esthetics.

  • Primescan

    1. Complete your intra-oral scan: prep arch, opposing arch, and bite registration.
    2. In the Primescan DS Core, add Summit-Horizon Primescan software, add Summit Horizon as a laboratory – your practice search for the lab using name/location or the email/contact the lab supplies. 
    3. Once the lab is added as a “Favorite Recipient” or approved partner, select it when submitting the case. 
    4. Enter the patient details, restoration type, shade information and any RX notes.
    5. Submit the case digitally. You will receive a digital receipt/confirmation from Summit Horizon.
    6. Attach a shade photo when available and link your RX form — this helps esthetics and reduces follow-up.

    Quick Reminder: Make sure the lab name appears correctly (“Summit Horizon Dental Lab – St. Louis, MO”) so files are directed properly.

  • SHINING 3D Aoralscan Elite

    1. Complete scan: prep arch, opposing arch, and bite.
    2. In the Aoralscan software (or Shining 3D Dental Cloud), go to “Send Order” or “Send to Lab”.
    3. Establish connection: in the “Connections” or “Lab Partners” section add Summit Horizon (search by name/email).
    4. Select Summit Horizon when ready. Attach RX form, shade photo and any notes. Click Send.
    5. Receive a confirmation from the lab.
    6. Tip: Ensure you pick the correct Summit Horizon entry (in case there are similarly named labs) and confirm export format.
  • Trios

    How to Send a Case to Summit Horizon Dental Lab


    Open the 3Shape Communicate portal.


    Complete scan (prep arch, opposing, bite).


    Enter patient details and restoration type.


    In the Lab Search bar, type: 
“Summit Horizon Dental Lab” (St. Louis, MO).


    Add RX notes and shade information.


    Submit case.


    Confirmation: You’ll receive a digital receipt, and our team will verify case details.

  • Attach your Rx/prescription and shade photograph (if available).

  • Reminder: Attaching a shade photo and including full Rx details saves time and helps ensure esthetic accuracy.
